Project objective
The aim of this project was to identify forest areas of high conservation value for inclusion into the Estonian Forest Conservation Area Network.
Project approach
The project conducted woodland nature value assessments across the country. For this purpose, a country-specific methodology was developed.
Results and impact
Forest areas of high conservation value were selected based on the research and field asesssments carried out by the project. The result was later used to identify forest areas for inclusion into Estonia's Natura 2000 network.
