The People’s Republic of China plays a crucial role in the global supply chain for wood products, and many companies rely on the country’s vast manufacturing capacity in their business operations. To better equip timber professionals on the compliance requirements of the EUTR, Preferred by Nature is offering a webinar focusing on timber legality risks and risk mitigation when importing products for which China is the country of harvest.
The event will provide an update on the latest developments and deliver guidance on how to mitigate risks within supply chains, as required by the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). However, the free-of-charge webinar is also highly relevant to companies outside the European Union dependent on sourcing wood and wood products from China.

The webinar is hosted by Preferred by Nature’s timber legality experts, Gaojun Zhao and Ditte Steffensen, who will introduce a suite of risk mitigation measures and tools relevant to professionals trading wood and wood products from China.
The tentative agenda includes:
- An introduction to the risk assessment concept developed by Preferred by Nature.
- A brief on the latest national risk assessment for China and an update on the most recent changes that influence timber legality risks.
- A presentation on Preferred by Nature’s risk mitigation tools and guidance for China developed to support companies’ due diligence efforts on Chinese supply chains.
