Christian is managing the NEPCon and Rainforest Alliance legality verification programme that includes the SmartWood standards for Verifying Legal Origin and Verifying Legal Compliance.
He is closely engaged in the development of legality verification standards and systems, and has worldwide experience in implementing and auditing legality systems.
He worked for the Rainforest Alliance since April 2006 and has filled the role as regional operations coordinator in Asia Pacific until 2008. During that time, Christian managed the regional FSC certification services as well as other verification and monitoring services.
This included forest carbon project verification against voluntary standards such as Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) standard, as well as experience with Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) methodologies for Agriculture, Forestry and other Land Use (AFOLU).
