FSC GENERAL ASSEMBLY SPECIAL ISSUE: 28 JUNE 2011
| TODAY'S MAIN TOPICS |
Nineteen side events at the FSC General Assembly venue yesterday involved FSC stakeholders in discussions on a wide variety of topics. In today's and tomorrow's issue, we report on these open events where lessons learned are shared, old discussions are remembered and new ideas introduced.
Highlights from this issue include news and editorial that questions the direction of FSC's accreditation programme. NEPCon Director Peter Feilberg calls it "isofication". Today's topics include smallholders, ecosystem services, the modular approach and an intriguing concept of underwater logging. With a fast growth in certification, Asia could become the next “FSC Tiger”, and don't miss out on today’s FSC Mover & Shaker: Grant Roseman from Greenpeace.
Tune in tomorrow for news on Controlled Wood, timber product traceability, climate change and reports on side events!
