Michael Jakobsen is in charge of maintaining seamless and excellent customer service that meets our clients' real needs, across NEPCon's business units and service range. He is also a primary force in developing NEPCon's services related to the EU Illegal Timber Law and the US Lacey Act.

Michael is experienced as a technical advisor in related fields, such as the  public timber procurement policies and  financial investments into responsibly managed forests. He has also provided a number of educational services as part of his former and present employments, and is a frequent speaker at public events.

He is as a trained FSC and PEFC lead auditor and has passed the ISO 9001 lead auditor course. As the lead auditor of more than 200 chain of custody audits, he has comprehensive FSC and PEFC auditing experience and is thoroughly familiar with the conditions of wood industries as well as the paper and printing sectors.
 

Michael holds an MSc degree in forestry and is specialized within close-to-nature forestry.  He masters Danish, English, German, Swedish and Norwegian. 

Michael has working experience from Denmark, Scandinavia, several Eastern European countries, Germany, Bosnia, Guyana and the US. 

He joined NEPCon in 2002, coming from a position in Danish forestry.
