Board of NEPCon
Our board includes experts on business administration and organisational development, financial and legal issues as well as natural resources management. Please find below a brief representation of the board members.
Chairman Nicolai Andreas Clausen
Nicolai Clausen is practising as attorney at law in Århus, www.elvang.dk and www.vilsoe.dk. He has extensive experience within corporate law and is a specialist within real estate, international relations, company law and corporate structure and rebuilding of structures. He is also well-experienced as board member of business companies. Nicolai Clausen has chaired NEPCon's board since 2001.
Labeeb M. Abboud
Labeeb Abboud is an attorney and is the Vice Chair of the board of directors of the Rainforest Alliance, NEPCon’s FSC certification partner. Abboud has also served as pro bono counsel to a number of non-profit organizations, including the Rainforest Alliance, and has been a director of several other non-profits. He is currently General Counsel of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, a non-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate the development of a safe, effective and accessible AIDS vaccine for use throughout the world. Previously, he served as General Counsel to Atriax, a London based electronic marketplace for foreign exchange products and related services. He has also held the positions of Group Counsel to American Express Bank Ltd. and as a corporate attorney with the law firm of Shearman & Sterling in New York.
Peter M. Buron
Peter Buron is a financial officer. He has vast experience within financial project steering and monitoring, as well as training and coaching of local project members within this field. He has completed project accounts for a large number of international projects. Buron is currently employed as the Accounting Manager of the Danish Lawfirm Sandel, Løje and Wallberg.
STEEN FORUM
Steen Forum is a consultant within organisational and human resources development, in particular with respect to organisations concerned with natural resources management. Among his expertise areas are change and process management, marketing, training and teambuilding. Steen is owner and manager of a consultancy company, and has professional experience as a project team leader and advisor from around 30 countries. He holds an MSc degree in forestry economics and has passed extensive postgraduate training in economics, organisational development, human resources management, and environmental auditing. Steen will finalise his studies at Henley Management College for a Masters degree in Business Administration this year. Before finally joining our Board in 2008, Steen provided valuable inputs to the strategic development of NEPCon on numerous occasions since NEPCon’s earliest days.
Kjell-Owe Ahlskog
Kjell-Owe Ahlskog is participating in the Board as staff representative, elected by NEPCon’s staff. He is coordinating NEPCon's certification services in Finland and Sweden, and is experienced as an FSC forest management and chain of custody lead auditor. Ahlskog holds a B.Sc. degree in Forestry. He has comprehensive experience within development and implementation of responsible wood sourcing policies in the corporate sector. |
