There is a growing consensus in the world that socio-economic development needs to be integrated with the need to preserve our environment for the future. All of NEPCon's activities are focused on supporting and fostering ways of achieving that balance.

Certification and verification

Our core activity consists of professional services related to certification of forest operations, wood industries and traders.

We work with certification schemes covering the social, environmental, economic and quality performance of the organization: The two most widely recognized international forest certification schemes, FSC and PEFC, as well as  ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.

In addition, we offer verification services for forest operations and companies which are only on the road to certification, and wish to document their progress and responsible approach. Read more

EXPERT assistance

We also regularly participate in projects and short-term assignments which focus on sustainable management of natural resorces. 

Recent assignments have included the development of public procurement policies, inputs to the FLEGT process, sustainable river management, capacity building for forest owners, and advice on the development of certification standards and manuals. Read more
