Chain of custody certification
for forest operations, wood industries and traders
Chain of custody (CoC) certification ensures the traceability of certified wood contained in a product. All companies in the processing and trade chain have to be covered by CoC certification in order for the final product to be sold as certified.

Wood industries, the paper and printing industry, and trade companies increasingly choose CoC certification due to a growing demand for products certified according to standards set up by well-recognized, global certification systems such as FSC and PEFC. Organizations wishing to sell wood or wood products as certified according to these systems need to be covered by a valid chain of custody certificate.
By becoming a part of the certified wood industry community, you support forest management that preserves important forest wildlife and ensures safe, healthy and fair conditions for people working in the forest.
Getting certified
Certification takes place based on independent, third-party certification assessments according to the standards established by the relevant certification system.
