New corruption index: Latvia and Slovakia now low-risk countries for legal issues

Transparency International has just released the 2008 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) for the world's countries. Certification Body Europartner loses FSC accreditation

FSC global principles and criteria under review 

For the first time since the Forest Stewardship Council was founded, the global FSC principles and criteria are about to undergo a thorough review. The review process could result in a breakthrough for the certification of small forest owners as well as for the role of FSC in mitigating carbon emissions. The FSC National Initiative in the UK is organizing "FSC Friday" today 26th of September. Several UK companies are offering FSC products at special rates, and competitions and awareness raising events take place.
