NEPCon representative in Finland appointed
11 December 2007
As from 1st of January 2008, Kjell-Owe Ahlskog is appointed as NEPCon’s representative in Finland and Sweden.
”The Scandinavian certification market is continuously growing. At this point, we felt a need for a representative based in Northern Scandinavia, and I am happy that we have managed to contract a highly competent person for this position”, says Michael Jakobsen, NEPCon’s certification coordinator in Scandinavia.
Ahlskog’s interest in responsible forestry is not new. Coming from a position as IKEA’s global forest manager for the past two years, he is already well-experienced within issues of responsible wood sourcing and certification.
Ahlskog’s experience base also includes a five-year period as regional forest manager within IKEA, and 8 years of working within the MoDo Group, a large Swedish forest company. As environmental manager and life cycle analysis expert within this organization, he worked with several aspects of environmental auditing and quality management within wood production, including ISO 14001. Ahlskog has also performed as a production manager, thus gaining hands-on experience with the production side of a timber company.
Ahlskog is appointed as NEPCon’s country manager for Sweden and Finland. His main tasks will be to develop the Finnish and Swedish certification markets as well as to perform as lead auditor primarily in the two countries. He speaks Finnish, Swedish, and English fluently. |
