Grazing by wild herbivores

NEPCon has carried out several asssignments regarding grazing by wild animals as a nature management measure. NEPCon elaborated a leaflet describing the effects and advantages of all-year grazing for nature management purposes compared to traditional summer grazing, and the relationship with large Danish herbivores.

NEPCon also prepared info material for the German NGO SALIX Weidegesellschaft mbH, regarding experimental nature management with grazing by wild oxen and wild horses in a large private agricultural holding.

Furthermore, an analysis concerning the implications of EU requirements for earmarking of bovine animals and dispensations practises in the EC was prepared on behalf of the County of Northern Jutland.

Finally, NEPCon co-organized a study trip to the Netherlands for staff from the Danish Forest and Nature Agency. The study trip focused on grazing by wild animals in set-aside areas.
